Pollos A La Brasa Mario in Astoria

I've been a loyal customer for many years and one particular waiter (Erik) has changed my mind about coming here again. Not once but twice, my wife and I had him as our server and not only is he extremely rude, he is very slow paced and the customer service / hospitality field is definitely not cut out for him. Hands down the worst waiter/server of all-time.Tierras Colombianas & Basurero are now my go to spots for Colombian food

Think American Diner meets Colombian chef. Shoot or a miss with the service, food is consistently good and priced well. Typical Colombian plates with great selection. Regardless the food always comes out fast and portioned well. The two times I’ve come here I’ve actually taken food home.

I ordered a bandeja & an entraña. Bandeja was really good, bit salty. The skirt steak was plentiful but I've had better entraña dishes. I would definately come here again but not for the entraña.

Was brought here by a friend of mine a while back and had a great time, each time! Food prices vary but cheaper dishes are around 10 bucks and they have more expensive options upwards of 20. It's a lot of food for the price and its tasty too!Staff were always friendly and nice

Authentic Spanish restaurant. Nice environment with delicious food. Their seafood dishes are amazing. When it comes to drinks, I highly recommend fruit juice with milk. They have wines and Spanish beers as well. Staffs are always very nice.

Always love to come here for some comfort food, and the coffee is also good! The service is great, and super friendly. My favorite plate is always the Bandeja Campesina, but they have great soups, steak, and seafood options as well. They are generous with their serving sizes, so a lot of the main entrees can be shared!

Pollos is known for their chicken and they do not disappoint! Nicely grilled and served with well prepared sides this makes the perfect meal. Definitely try it with Colombian soda which goes perfectly. Can be crowded depending on when you go but they also do a brisk takeout business so there's no way you can lose. Service is extremely nice and food arrives at your table quickly. Highly recommended!

Typical colombian food, food is ok. Some waiters/waitresses are very good and pay attention. Some others will not. No consistency in service, but they deliver same flavors all the time.

Pollos Mario has a good standard of quality every single time I go there. They offer a really wide list of dishes, prices are good, and flavor is great every time. This particular location is my favorite because I've known the waitresses for a while and they are extremely nice with our kids.

Food was great, except for the dark coarse curly hair in my food. Waitress was apologetic and brought out a different plate for us but there should not have been a hair in my food to begin with.

Bad experience! I don’t recommend this place to no one, fried plantains soft, full of grease, bad beans, rice made with reused oil looking brown....total waist of time and money! I suggest to look for another Colombian restaurant!!

I enjoyed the lavish servings. The service and sauces was great. The hot sauce was especially flavorful. The chicken was also very tender and juicy.

Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend Pollos A La Brasa Mario. Everything from the appetizers to entrees to drinks was amazing! Staff is very friendly and nice. Definitely try the Typical Platter (first picture) has a little bit of everything. Second picture is chicken with rice, Maduros and salad also very good!

Solid chicken place, Colombian style. $12.50 will get you chicken soup, salad, rice, fries, and 1/4 chicken. Chicken was slightly dry, but not too bad. They give you a pink mayonnaise sauce for the salad, which we used to dip the chicken in also. Atmosphere is no frills, but relaxing and enjoyable. Waitress pleasant and spoke some english and understood our order with ease.

It was ok . Food was ok, service was mediocre. What I didn't like was that they charged me a 3.99 percentage for using my card. They don't have any posting visible to their customers of this particular changed. I been to other locations before Covid-19 and they never charged extra.

I asked before ordering about the shrimp soup if it had any cream or cheese of some sort they said no. And sure enough it did have heavy. $30 for a shrimp soup🤮. Now I must say their skirt steaks are amazing.

Food and service incredible! There may be others but this one and only location in Astoria is by far the BEST! The others are some what mediocre.

Delicious authentic Colombia food, music and atmosphere

My first experience here was amazing! Great food and great friends. I had the bandeja paisa, very delicious and definitely a fulfilling plate. I don’t recommend the seafood soup. The seafood didn’t taste like food but plastic like...

Horrible. Everytime I ordered steak it came cold and pink. Also on my last order, I ordered through seamless and never received my order. I tried calling the restaurant several times and they never answered. Take your business elsewhere.

I love the food, I’ve been here multiple times with my family. I would give the food five stars but the servers are eh. I was sitting in a booth and three servers were right behind me leaning on the booth just talking and I could hear their conversation which means they could hear mine which was uncomfortable. You get a lot of food and I always end up taking half of it home and the server who took our food to the back to put them in containers kept making faces at us for requesting to take it home, which was very off putting. Overall, I like the food, I will go back again but they need to act more professional.
